The most prestigious awards ceremony of them all took place in Hollywood last night – The Oscars. Whilst the award ceremony itself is of course very important, here at Joel & Son Fabrics we watch it for one thing and one thing only - the Red Carpet.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE
Best-Actress nominee Jennifer wowed in a lingerie-inspired Christian Dior gown. A delicate black chantilly lace was used to create this show-stealing look. The chantilly is gathered in layers upon layers from the waist down - perfect to create movement and body whilst a clever nude lining retains her modesty.
MARGOT ROBBIE
Margot Robbie's Tom Ford gold sequinned ensemble made her quite literally look like an Oscar - and we loved it. We love the balance between a long sleeve and plunging neckline. To recreate this look, use a stretch sequin to ensure you get that figure-hugging finish.
OLIVIA MUNN
A flattering, form fitting simple crêpe dress by Stella McCartney that every woman should take note of. We love the coral colour against her skin tone and the one-shoulder finish. This style would work beautifully in a silk macorain crêpe - the subtle sheen of this fabric gives a beautiful finish.

Showing off her enviable figure, Charlize Theron wore a plunging Christian Dior gown. This dress is made from Marocain Silk Crêpe, however it can also be recreated using a silk satin if you are looking to add extra sexiness.
