  1. The Oscars 2016

    The Oscars 2016

The most prestigious awards ceremony of them all took place in Hollywood last night – The Oscars. Whilst the award ceremony itself is of course very important, here at Joel & Son Fabrics we watch it for one thing and one thing only - the Red Carpet.

Here are our favourite looks from The Oscars 2016.

    JENNIFER LAWRENCE

Best-Actress nominee Jennifer wowed in a lingerie-inspired Christian Dior gown. A delicate black chantilly lace was used to create this show-stealing look. The chantilly is gathered in layers upon layers from the waist down - perfect to create movement and body whilst a clever nude lining retains her modesty.

    Fashion Week Highlights

Here at Joel & Son Fabrics we do love Fashion Week. And with yesterday marking the end of London Fashion Week, we couldn't let the opportunity go by without sharing our favourite looks for Autumn/Winter 2016-17 with you.

    Here are our top picks.

    BURBERRY

Christopher Bailey injected a nostalgic, retro feel into his collection. Full of flared trousers, shiny brocades and of course sequins - a true nod to The Seventies.

  3. Best Dressed: Oscars Nominee Luncheon 2016

Best Dressed: Oscars Nominee Luncheon 2016

The Oscars season is well underway and was officially kicked off on Monday with the Nominee Luncheon. Whilst this A-List event typically does not have all the glitz, glamour and bling that The Oscars ceremony has itself, we can certainly use it to learn a few things about daytime chic from Hollywood's finest.

    Here are our best dressed.

Alicia Vikander kept it simple yet stylish with a plain crêpe dress in a striking coral. This style and silhouette works wonderfully with either a silk crêpe or wool crêpe, depending on the time of the year.
