    Fishnets & Safety Pins

After David Bowie arrived at the V&A museum, and Madonna arrived at the Met Galla, the world seems to have gone into a punk frenzy. Even if safety pins and ripped fishnet stocking aren't to your taste, classic versions of kilts and school uniforms are a look for the less-punky to follow the trend this winter. Whatever spectrum of the punk-o-meter you are and whether you remember it's first cycle or not, Punk is certainly not dead.

It was a bold step for the Met to theme the gala, and the reception was mixed. We discussed that it was only those attendees that were around during the punk era, that knew what to wear. There was also the discussion that punk was not about the fashion, but about rebelling against how the world was turning at the time. But whatever way you

    A San Francisco wedding

I love weddings and what’s more: I love tailoring for them. Getting married is such a special time in someone’s life and to be part of that journey is a privilege. I have worked with some wonderful bridal parties this year each with their own journey and unique take on the big day, which brings me to my first couple, Jo and Mark who first approached me in April. Jo, a beautiful brunette, came prepared with images, inspiration and a clear vision of her wedding outfit: think back to that iconic Bridal image of a 1970’s Bianca Jagger, and you’re there.

    The Cloth

Prior to our meet, I had already sourced my fabric swatches from Joel and Son. For me, they always ‘get on board’ with my projects, showing me fabrics and ideas I hadn’t thought of and essentially, their best cuts of cloth for my clients. Armed with a selection of white wools, some of which

One of the things that really makes our work worthwhile is seeing all of the fabulous creations you all make from our fabrics – some of them are simply stunning and we want to show these off to inspire more customers and readers.

Maybe you make dresses and garments for a living. Maybe you are at university studying Fashion or Textile Design. Maybe you are simply a hobbyist who loves making things out of fabrics. Either way, we bet a £100 voucher to spend in our on-line store would help ri

Polka dots have always been a whimsical, fun, flirty print that continuously appears and disappears in our wardrobe. All the best females have been seen dotting-up at some point of their paparazzi's career. Marilyn did it and Kate did it, but more importantly the catwalks are currently doing it.

Lady Gaga is back on the radio, so we're putting our paws up. There is a much needed discussion for the amount of Fur that we saw in the Fall/Winter shows for this year. Oversized and over-rageous MORE IS MORE. This trend is not for the house-cats. We've moved up in the food chain and our coats have gone wild.
