Jakob Schlaepfer

Jakob Schlaepfer is a 104-year-old textile company. Known for their ‘fantasy fabrics’ such as sequined embroidery, developed back in the 1960s. Tortoise-shell looking sequins used by Louis Vuitton, which were the L.V. logo chopped up in a blender, was a Schlaepfer creation. This season, current designer, Martin Leuthold developed cotton guipures for Prada as well as sequined ones for Miu Miu that was inspired by Schlaepfer. Clients include Cirque du Soleil, Disney and Chanel.
