Flashing light bulbs, the sweet smell of A-listers and the joyous sound of Cristal corks being popped can only mean one thing… Hollywood Award season is here! Oozing glamour and Haute Couture, there is nothing more we look forward to than what is coming down the red carpet. Check out Joel & Son’s favourite looks below from The Golden Globe Awards 2015.
Winter white was a major trend this year worn by stars like Kate Hudson (Atelier Versace), Rosamund Pike (custom Vera Wang) and Emily Blunt (custom Michael Kors). See our breakdown of this fashionable hue below.
Kate Hudson and Atelier Versace are a match made in heaven.
Leaving little to the imagination, this beautiful floor length, white satin gown hugged her in all the right places. Swarovski Crystals adorned each side of the upper body and the deep neck plunge, as well as the skirt train looked every bit of Hollywood Glamour. A simple hairstyle swept off of the shoulders and minimal ForeverMark diamonds kept this look elegant. Good job Kate!
Emily Blunt played it safe after the arrival of her new baby in a cut-out, grecian style, cross-over neck dress with lose fitting skirt. Emily styled her outfit perfectly with two braids either side of her head twisted into a bun accompanied by Lorraine Schwartz diamond and jade chandelier earrings and matching bracelet.
For more of an impact, some stars opted for show stopping silver sparkles.
The outfit that was on everyone’s lips was the Zuhair Murad beaded, caped, floor length gown worn by the Queen of va-va-voom; Jennifer Lopez. This dress oozed sex appeal with a thigh high slit and V-neck plunge. Paired with simple evening sandals and a sparkly hard box clutch the styling of this look was executed tremendously well. Props to you JLO!
Also rocking the silver sequin trend was Julianne Moore… and didn’t she do it well! Wearing custom Givenchy, Julianne had us from the word go. Designed by Ricardo Tischi, the mega talented actress looked every bit fabulous in a halter neck, sequinned, floor length gown. The silhouette has been cinched at the waist and the embellishment graduated into darker sequins around the lower leg following into an ombre of grey to navy feathers around the ankle.
It appears that Emma Stone caught the embellishment bug when preparing for The Golden Globe Awards too!
Known for their long standing relationship, Lanvin’s Creative Director Alber Elbaz, designed a beautiful and heavily embellished custom made jumpsuit for the actress. An intricately beaded bustier attached to black, wide legged cropped pants that just grazed the top of the ankle. A typical ‘Lanvin-esque’ black bow was draped at the back of the jumpsuit and the tails protruded all the way to the floor trailing behind her. This outfit is a modern outtake on ‘black tie’ attire and arguably a risk worth taking, but the best thing about Emma Stone’s red carpet looks are that she always represents the direction that the fashion industry is headed.
