Ralph and Russo Show - Paris Couture Fashion Week

This week I visited Paris for the Paris Haute Couture SS14 closing show, Ralph and Russo.

Now this was actually a historic show as it was the first British brand that has officially been welcomed to the show schedule in over 100 years.

Tamara Ralph and Micahel Russo founded the label in 2007 and pride themselves on working with very high profile celebrities like Angelina Jolie, and designing the stage costumes for Beyoncé’s concerts.

Ralph and Russo are not like your traditional couture house. Instead of the heavy 4 to 6 month waiting period you would normally wait for a couture dress, Ralph and Russo will have your dress completed with 4 to 6 weeks! When there handpicked group of courtiers clock out in the evenings the night shift team of couturiers clock in to carry on work on each one of a kind couture gown.

Each outfit designed will always also be customised exclusive to each client, as Ralph and Russo do not do a ready to wear collection. As the lights dimmed in the famous Espace Vendome we wear treated to possibly the most spectacular couture dresses possibly ever created.

“The collection which was strongly inspired on the glorious 1940s and 1950s with graphic silhouettes and generous volumes of classic ball gowns in silks and organza’s that epitomize sophistication.”

Ralph and Russo are everything a couture house should be, elegant, exciting and exclusive and I am excited to see what is next for the brand.
