Over the past week I attended London Collections, Men SS15 to check out the latest trends and styles from the UK’s best designers.
Whilst the boys in Brazil were struggling through the World Cup, here in London, we were focused on spotting the most talented up-and-coming designers and key Menswear trends.
We noticed the focus has definitely shifted away from the formal tailoring to a more relaxed approach. We also saw a lot of denim, floral and stripes dominating the catwalk.
One of the highlights of the week came from the new creative director of Moschino, (new to the London schedule) Jeremy Scott with his debut menswear show. Scott used a lot of 90s inspired colours and an American pop sensibility with a collection that will undoubtedly have his fans queuing round the block when it becomes available later this year.

Margaret Howell, who showed her incredible collection on Day Two, had a lot of wide leg naval trousers using fabrics such as cotton and linen as well as a lot of hand knitted jumpers all under the relaxed and effortless tailoring approach.

Another prevalent trend for SS15 is the use of stripes and checks - no doubt next summer every English man with any style sense, will be wearing these. Hackett London sent its models down the runway in their polo-inspired show with wide stripes and large checkered linen.
Duchamp, Casley Hayford and Tiger of Sweden, who showed their collection for the first time in London this season, were all also showcasing the check and stripe look.

The colour yellow will be making a strong appearance - it was on display in the form of toned down suits with printed blue shirts at A. Sauvage, as well as used sensibly on jumpers and trousers at Chester Barrie and Turnbull & Asser. On a more outrageouse approach, yellow fabric was used to create a tuxedo at the Moschino show.

One of the highlights of SS15 has to be the Riviera collection from Chester Barrie. The Savile Row English tailors collection includes dusty blue jumpers and sharply cut blue sports jackets with bright white buttons creating a look perfect for walking along the Côte d'Azur.

As London Collections Men closes its doors for another season, one thing is certain, menswear has come along way with the man of SS15 wearing brightly coloured clothing and a lot more print.
