Diamonds are a girl’s best friend but attaching a VS1 from Graff to your cable knit sweater may not be as cost-effective as you had hoped. Therefore, anything of resemblance works for me! First, let's talk about what was on the Balenciaga runway. Black, black, black, grey, navy, burgundy, black and EVERYTHING has HEAVY spiked embellishment. Think biker edge turned ultra chic. It’s the new way to wear your jewellery. The best thing about trimmings is that you can more or less attach them to anything and everything. Turn a cosy sweater into your must-have piece for this season.
For a more cosy and seasonal option, attach some fur. It’s the fastest way to change the dimension of an outfit and add an elegant finish. A prime example of this was shown on the Roberto Cavalli runway with a Siberian fox fur bib. Add around a hem, cuff, neckline; wherever. See below our trimmings to get the look!
Lastly, the same trend was beautifully illustrated at Alexander McQueen with heavy embellishment all over. The dense material is cut into a simple a–line dress and has been transformed into cocktail attire. Wear with chunky boots for a high fashion look or strappy sandals to add a delicate finish and contrast the heaviness above.
