The 70s are back… again. For SS15 it’s all about the Super 70s and needless to say we are glad that we can pull out the old favourites and add to our beloved collection of denim. We love the revolving ethos of fashion but weren’t the nineties like five minutes ago?
Denim was the strongest trend from the runways, even non-denim wearers might be tempted by some of the nifty-tailored pieces that are heading this way. Ripped, patched, zipped, paint splattered, structured, frayed, blue, black, indigo, metallic, beaded and distressed, our favourite designers have given Denim a rebirth. Think Chanel, Burberry and Gucci for their interpretation of the easy-to-wear investment denim.
Trousers should be wide-legged, high-waisted and teamed with platforms, wear pussy-bow blouses under a denim jacket (cropped or bomber style) and your favourite ‘go-to’ lose fitting denim shirt layered over your favourite rock band Tee. Perhaps this is a refreshing update on blood-clotting skinny jeans that seem to have painted everyone’s legs for the past five years? For the warmer months try a pale-denim blue oversized floaty dress- a must have for all fashionistas, this is a big holiday hit.
Get inspired by coloured denim to set yourself apart, take this trend from day to night when the fabric is tailored differently. Once again, we are seeing chic culottes everywhere. Team with stilettos and a sharp blazer for evening elegance.
