Sequins shout glamour. Everyone knows that. Red carpets are swimming in them. We’re pretty sure JLo and Beyonce take baths in them. When the party season rolls around, shop windows and Christmas jumpers light up with festive glimmers of red and green, sparkly clothing is perfectly acceptable, expected really, and everyone dusts off their sequinned evening gowns and glittery cocktail jackets.

But don't pack your sequins away when your perma hangover's gone and December's over. Nope. Keep wearing them loud and proud, because there’s been an explosion of glitz on the recent designer catwalks, and that can only mean one thing - we have a big sequin situation looming for 2019.

Joel and Son Fabrics are big fans of this trend. We've always offered the best range of sequinned fabrics around, and after seeing what fashion has in store for next year, we've stocked up with even more - every colour, size, pattern and material we could find. When all's said and done, nothing makes you feel a million bucks more than being drenched (or perhaps lightly dusted ) in sequins. We want to recreate the lavishly sequinned jackets and party frocks that reigned at Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week show for Spring Summer 2019, in September. Prada had a black dress covered in over-sized sequins, which looked amazing (see for yourself below), and we love how Roberto Cavalli sprinkled sequins over neutral beige colour tones and made a slightly blah colour look like something we can seriously party in.

And you can probably guess who's created these shimmering, decadent designs for Spring Summer 2019...
A few from Zuhair Murad's latest collection, the king of glam shine and twinkle.
And sequins shouldn't be confined to evening or occasion-wear. They can lift day to day fashions in the best way, without looking ridiculous, if you pare them back with something plain or a bit street. White trainers look great with a white tee and silver sequinned skirt. Straight black trousers embroidered with a fine line of sequins down the sides. Alexa Chung's nailed it by throwing a plain chunky knit over a high-glam gold and black sequinned skirt. There are so many ways to incorporate sequins into casual wear and make your outfits pop with character and style.
Our incredible array of sequinned fabrics is yours to play with.
Silks, lycras, tulles, microfibres, knits, jerseys, cottons. Prints, patterns, shapes, multi-coloured, block coloured - the list goes on! Take a look online - it'll get you excited for the festive season, for party-soaked evenings, and for a Spring Summer 2019 that is looking like a very sparkly, sequin friendly season indeed, which we, for one, are all for.
