The most eagerly anticipated award ceremony in Hollywood took place last night, it was time again for The Oscars. Glitz and glamour radiated from the red carpet to the glittering diamonds draped over the star-studded guest list whilst the world’s fashion police deliberated. You’ve seen the winners so now it’s time to choose your red carpet favourites with Joel & Son… let’s talk about The Oscars 2015!
In terms of red carpet trends this year, we have definitely seen over the award season that nudes are a favourite. Our pick of this trend from the Oscars has to be Jennifer Lopez in the memorable Haute Couture runway piece from Elie Saab’s recent collection.
Delicate beading decorated the bodice and trickled down either side of the dress whilst Saab’s tulle overload was cinched at the waist with a slim belt accentuating the singer’s famous curves. For more information on this stunning collection, read our ‘Love Struck’ blog here.
Following in the neutral trend, Reese Witherspoon radiated elegance in Tom Ford. The actress keeps this classic ensemble up to date with bare shoulders and a relaxed hairstyle.
Best actress nominee, Felicity Jones, wowed in a custom-made Alexander McQueen gown featuring an embellished halter design. The top was covered in rows of miniature flowers and pearls.
The voluminous skirt pin tucks at either side of the waist and descents into luxurious full-bodied Duchess Satin. Get the look at Joel & Son with our large range of Satins and fabulous trimmings.
Rosamund Pike is certainly a contender for this years best dressed, stunning in a drop-dead gorgeous Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy custom-made strapless gown.
The delicate scalloping forms an understated semi-circle accentuating the actress’s enviable post-baby figure. The exquisite Lace adds to the femininity as well as the alluring thigh-high slit revealing her enviable pins. It is fair to say that Rosamund Pike stole the show!
Emma Stone looked effortlessly stylish in this delicate Elie Saab beaded frock. The colour really compliments her fiery hair and the actress sets the look apart with a trendy slick of fluo lipstick.
Sienna Miller stunned in an Oscar de la Renta gown from Peter Copping’s first collection since the designer’s passing. The Brocade mini dress transforms into a floor-length gown with the sheer lace inlet attached around the hem. Our British beauty swept her golden locks away from her face and kept this look sleek and elegant.
Our final pick is of course the talented Jessica Chastain wearing a Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci bespoke gown with Piaget jewellery. The navy hue is particularly stylish and the silk satin hugs the actress in all the right places.
That’s it from our list of favourites but we welcome you to recreate these sensational looks with us and promise to offer the most fabulous, red carpet worthy fabrics. Until next year!
